The paintings presented here are all executed premier coup from life sessions. Poses range in duration from 10 to 50 minutes. I strive to make a complete composition from what is presented me, with the motif existing within its context as I interpret it. I use tube watercolors of various brands pre-diluted to speed paint application. Paint is applied to watercolor blocks, both hot press and cold, smooth and rough. Sometimes a slight graphite sketch is roughed in, but more often than not I proceed directly to paint. The paintings are executed using a sight/size method, with the figure or object depicted in the same scale at which I am viewing it. Watercolor is a relatively new medium for me, and I am still in the discovery phase in technique, palette and media.
